Nordic Walking is a fun, low-impact and highly effective full-body exercise that can be enjoyed either socially or solo, anywhere you can put one foot in front of the other!
Originally developed in Finland for cross-country skiers to stay fit in summer, Nordic Walking is great for anyone and especially suitable for people in middle or older age, or those who have concerns about joints, balance, or injury.
Nordic Walking uses specially designed poles to help propel you forwards and upwards.
The correct placement of the pole, combined with the rhythmic nature of Nordic Walking, also helps to improve the range of movement around joints, posture, and balance.
Done correctly, Nordic Walking feels like a full body workout, burning 20 - 40% more calories than ordinary walking, making it a great activity for overall fitness.
Nordic Walking is a full-body workout that strengthens your back muscles, trains your core, tones and shapes your whole body, and helps you lose weight. It's sociable, fun, fantastic for mental health, and is one of the fastest-growing sports in Europe, which has also started to gain popularity in the US.
